In the continued quest to create a truly unique experience for visitors, a very special and unique white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier – a first for Hidden Valley Wines, has been added to the range and is the 5th wine to be released in the new look - just in time for summer!

Hidden Valley is true to its name. A hidden, “gem of a place”, with the greatest location imaginable, offering a wine, food and art experience of exceptional quality. Situated on the North Western slopes of the Helderberg Mountain at an altitude of 350 metres, the farm is located within the so called “Golden Triangle” of Stellenbosch, which is regarded as the premium wine producing area in South Africa. The elegant, handcrafted wines are the culmination of superior terroir, meticulous selection in the vineyards and gentle winemaking practices by Annalie van Dyk, our winemaker.

With the focus being Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine range consists of two Michelangelo and Veritas awarded flagship red blends, Hidden Secret and Hidden Gems as well as a dry rosé, Hidden Treasure, Sauvignon blanc, and Pinotage.

Following in the footsteps of the rest of the wines that have been released in the new look wine range, the white blend has been bottled in a French imported, grey smoke, Anassa shaped bottle. The new white blend replaces the single varietal Viognier in the range.

These two varietals complement each other beautifully with the Viognier adding the body and the wonderfully floral aroma that is needed to balance the acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc. At the same time, the Sauvignon Blanc makes the Viognier more accessible to the consumer as Viognier is relatively unknown to them.

As owner Riaan Stassen quoted before: It is our vision to leave no person unimpressed when they experience the hidden gems we offer and the new white blend is truly another “gem” that has been added to the taste experience of Hidden Valley Wines! The recent GOLD medal that it won at the 2016 Michelangelo International Wine & Spirit Awards, is testimony to just that!
