It’s almost time for the hugely popular Stellenbosch Wine Festival presented by Pick n Pay. Returning to the picturesque Coetzenburg Sports Grounds from 24 to 26 February 2017, the festival will be jam-packed with activities for the whole family. Here’s why you can’t miss it:

Choose from over 400 wine to taste
You’d be hard-pressed to find another festival that boasts so many fine estates coming together under one roof to showcase their wines and produce.

Live Music
What better way to spend a summer weekend than enjoying delicious food and wine with friends and family while taking in a sunset concert? Watch the sun go down to the sounds of Riku Latti, Manny Walters, Tribal Echo, Mila, Hugo Brand, Young Folks, Basson Laubscher (full band and a solo performance), Ben Dey & The Concrete Lions, Fraser Barry, Newton and Aiden Martin (see programme for times).

The Pick n Pay Wine Library
New to the Festival in 2017, the Pick n Pay Wine Library offers visitors a rare opportunity to taste bespoke wines from the region, presented by the wine makers who produce them. These intimate sessions run every 45 minutes throughout the three-day Festival. Tickets are R150 per person, per session – book early to avoid disappointment.

The Pick n Pay Tasting Room
If you’ve always wondered which wines go with which food, visit the Tasting Room for a canapé pairing session to learn with an expert and enjoy some of the incredible festival wines at the same time. Wine and canapé pairing sessions will run for the duration of the festival, but be sure to reserve your spot in advance as these sessions are very popular. Visit http://www.webtickets.co.za/EventCategory.aspx?itemid=1465811258 to book.

On Friday 24 February at 8pm you can be part of the fun as the team go through their hilarious shenanigans live on set from the festival – a truly one of a kind experience! Access to the set is free with your festival ticket.

The Grape Stomping Ground
A firm favourite at the festival, come and try your hand (or feet) at some old-world wine-making methods or race your friends in the ultimate test of athletic ability… a wine barrel race.

Gourmet Lane
Grab some great food from The Gourmet Lane, where local vendors will have a variety of food options on sale. There will be something for everyone with local eateries and food trucks catering to all tastes.

The Momentum Health Kiddies Area
Moms and Dads can relax while the little ones are entertained by professional minders and a host of fun activities. The Klouter Kabouter playground will have a jumping castle, face-painting and the creative corner providing hours of excitement.

Pick n Pay Women’s Walk
Earn that extra glass of wine by participating in this 5km family walk in aid of breast cancer awareness and education. Despite the name everyone is welcome, so bring the whole family to support this great cause. Bring your unique walk number along to the Stellenbosch Wine Festival on either Saturday 25 or Sunday 26 and only pay R100 for your Festival entry!
