8 Fun Wine Harvest Festivals

Get a sense of the grape’s journey from vine to barrel with these eight harvest festivals:

1. Muratie Harvest Festival

The festival under the ancient oaks of this historic wine estate, is a celebratory family event featuring good food, fine wine, great company, live music and lots of fun stomping newly harvested grapes.

Enjoy a long, lazy alfresco lunch after a hard-day’s work of grape stomping accompanied by Muratie wines and a live performance by the Kitchen jamming Blues Band.

When: Saturday, 29 February

2. Stellenbosch Cabernet Collectve Harvest Celebration

Breaking away from the traditional harvest events, this festival marks the launch of a new campaign bringing forward integration between Stellenbosch and its most renowned varietal.

On the lawns of the iconic Rust en Vrede estate, guests will enjoy an inspired harvest-themed-lunch complimented by an exclusive selection of Cabernet Sauvignon magnum bottles from the 29 Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective members.

3. Nederburg Harvest at Dusk Festival

Sip, snip and squash your way through a first-hand experience of harvest time at Nederburg Wines. Learn from the winemakers how the harvest is progressing, taste newly harvested grapes and fresh grape must before it becomes wine. Then get yourself dirty by picking and stomping some grapes.

A harvest feast awaits guests after the grape-stomping with upbeat music by popular South African band, Kaleidoskoop.
