Concours Mondial du Sauvignon Gold for Kleine Zalze

The results of the Concours Mondial du Sauvignon have been announced with the Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Sauvignon blanc 2019 receiving an impressive Gold Medal.

Furthermore demonstrating consistency in excellence, this wine also achieved outstanding results with 5 stars in the 2021 Platter’s wine guide, a Gold medal at the 2020 Veritas awards, 90 points by Tim Atkin (MW), rated one of the Top 10 Sauvignon blancs at the 2020 Sauvignon blanc SA Top 10 and achieving a coveted Platinum medal at the 2020 Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards.
 
The Concours Mondial du Sauvignon panel is trade-only and comprised of totally dedicated members of the industry, including buyers and international shippers, engineers, research scientists and wine makers, journalists, wine writers and specialist critics and representatives of marketing boards and growers’ organisations. Twenty nationalities are represented, thereby guaranteeing the outstanding diversity that sets the Concours Mondial du Sauvignon apart from other wine competitions. Over 1,200 Sauvignons were tasted in ‘lockdown’ mode, with safety measures fully enforced.

Sauvignon blanc has in recent years become an extremely popular grape variety in the international marketplace. Driven by New World producer countries, the varietal has become a benchmark in terms of freshness, elegance and seamless food pairing experiences. 

The flagship Kleine Zalze Family Reserve wines are produced in limited quantities and are available online and from select wine stores. The Family Reserve Sauvignon blanc will be available to purchase from the 2nd of April 2021.
