Say Hello to Spring at Hazendal

2 September 2021  -  Hazendal

With the blue skies and warming days of September upon us, we're thrilled to once again welcome guests to Pivnushka, the al fresco beer garden and restaurant on Hazendal estate.

With beautiful views over the Bottelary Hills, and long tables out in the fresh spring air, it's the perfect place to reconnect with family and friends over sophisticated cocktails, fine wines and flame-grilled fare.

The Pivnushka menu dishes up a delicious blend of Russian and South African beer garden favorites, from chebureki stuffed pastries and Olivier salad to traditional jaffles and flame-grilled steak. The wood-fired pizzas are a perennial crowd-pleaser, while the hearty German sausage platter will satisfy the hungriest appetite. But we take care of smaller tummies too, with a dedicated kids’ menu for young diners.

Pretty as a Picnic

Make the most of Hazendal's beautiful estate this spring by booking one of our sumptuous Babushka picnic baskets.

The Babushka Picnic baskets come filled with delicious South African and Russian delicacies, from artisan breads to snoek pâté, dukkah-spiced chicken to Russian Olivier potato salad. Special menus for children and vegetarians ensure everyone is looked after with ease.

Our picnic menus are seasonal and change depending on availability of fresh farm produce.

Picnics can be enjoyed on the spacious shaded lawns, at one of our pre-booked picnic areas situated in the gardens, or alongside the lush wetlands. With streams to splash in, outdoor sculptures to explore and gardens to discover, the Babushka Picnics are ideal for families and friends to spend the day relaxing on one of the Cape’s oldest wine estates.

The picnics are available Tuesday to Sunday at 10:00 or 13:00.
Picnics are R300 per adult and R140 per child.
