Eikendal Wines, with its distinctive barrel-vaulted cellar and towering fountain, is a landmark on the R44 road between Somerset West and Stellenbosch. Situated in the “Golden Triangle” of wine growing, Eikendal vineyards flourish in a mountain and maritime microclimate, ideal for the production of quality wine. Since 1981, the 76 hectare wine farm has been under the ownership of the Saager family from Zurich, Switzerland. The Swiss owners recognised the great potential of the area and wasted no time in modernising the existing vineyards and establishing the cellar.

Tasting Room Details & Offerings

Eikendal is a boutique winery on the slopes of the Helderberg with their wine tasting room close to the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West. With both inside and outside seating it is a destination for any event!
Eikendal offers a relaxed tasting experience with knowledgeable and friendly staff to introduce you to our array of excellent wines. You can choose to sit in our classical tasting room, or outside overlooking the farm dam while your little's can entertain themselves on the jungle gym.

We offer the following tasting options:

Classic Tasting - your own selection of 5 wines for R70 per person
Express Tasting - your own selection of 3 wines for R50 per person

Wine & Pizza pairing (May-August) - a selection of 3 wines paired meticulously with 3 mini pizza's for R170 per person
Wine & Cheesecake pairing (September - April) - a selection of 3 Eikendal wines paired with 3 different styles of cheesecake for R170 per person

Milk & cookie tasting - for the little ones we offer a cookie decorating kit paired with flavoured milk for R75 per child
