In 1984 Neil Ellis sourced grapes from vineyards not of his own and produced wine in rented cellar space. These grapes were sourced in the Stellenbosch district and meant a lot of nosing around the restrictive quota system prevalent at the time.

His vision, the pursuit of quality, extended out of the cellar and into the vineyards where varieties would excel and best express a particular style of wine reflective of their environment.

Today, the experience and knowledge of the past are applied to modern techniques and technologies for a new generation of winemaking. “Our vision remains to make distinctive, refined wines that are expressive of their terrain and rank amongst South Africa’s finest. Tasting Room Details & Offerings

We offer unique wine tastings of site-selected and single vineyard wines.
Our wines can be accompanied by a cheese and charcuterie platter and seasonal food fare on the tasting menu to elevate your wine experience.

Exclusive Tasting
Your journey begins with an immersive tasting of three unique and exclusive wines. These wines were inspired by our winemakers either by varietal, site, style and the passing of knowledge and experience from one generation to the next.

Site-Specific Tasting
One of our wine advisors will guide you through a specially curated flight of five highly allocated, vineyard designate wines, from our four primary vineyard selected sites. Along the way, we will present vineyard photos and soil selections, to further connect you to the terrain.
