5 Things you need to know about Wine Town Stellenbosch
South Africa’s heartland of wine goes on full display from Thursday, 4 August to Tuesday, 9 August, when it welcomes families and friends to its annual celebration of the grape, suitably called Wine Town Stellenbosch 2022.
The format of the festival remains de-centralized. With events hosted around town and on wine farms, Wine Town Stellenbosch gives wine lovers the best opportunity to explore the region known for its heritage and world champion wines.
1. Stellenbosch Wine Festival
One of the main attractions of Wine Town Stellenbosch 2022 will be Stellenbosch Wine Festival, a two-day showcase of local wines to be held in the Stellenbosch Town Hall. Held on the Friday and Saturday (5 and 6 August), the festival is ideal for visitors wanting a snapshot of the wine scene.
Tickets for this event start at R300pp; are available online at plankton.mobi; and, go on sale on 5 July.
2. Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon tasting
Explore and discover the wonders of Cabernet Sauvignon in a sunset walk around tasting at the beautiful home of Ernie Els Wines. Guests will get to taste a current vintage and a specially selected older vintage from 20 of the Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective member producers. Book your ticket now.
3. OppiePlaas
